The development of 3M carrier tape is divided into three stages: thermal cover belt, pressure-sensitive cover belt and 3M general cover tape.

Heat sensitive cover tape (HAA)

3M continues to provide various creative solutions to meet customers’ expectations for the braiding and packaging of surface mount components. As early as the 1980s, we tried to improve the combination of cover belt products. The original products are cover tapes with various “thermal adhesive” (HAA) structures. These products solve the two major factors affecting the packaging efficiency of thermal cover tapes in common use, namely, the instability of viscosity and peeling force.
