“Why do led carrier chips appear in the packaging process?” Recently, we got such an inquiry from our customer. The customer told to us, “there will be waste chips in the packaging process of their LED carrier tape. Why?”

After receiving the customer’s inquiry, we immediately had an in-depth understanding with the customer. It turned out that when they were packaging the lamp beads, they found that when the LED carrier tape entered the track of the packaging machine, there were fine dandruff left in the guide hole (as shown in the figure). 

We stated the customer’s doubts to the company’s quality control and Engineering Department, and sent the pictures sent by the customers to them. In the spirit of actively exploring the belt carrying problem, they held a group discussion meeting. After everyone’s active discussion, we concluded that the main reasons for the possible waste during the packaging process of LED tape are as follows:

1. The cleanliness of belt carrying molding machine is not enough,

2 The belt forming set-top needle is not sharp.

3. There is a problem with the blowing equipment of the belt forming machine.

4. The formed tape has not been well tested.

For how to prevent the scrap problem of LED carrier tape in the packaging process, we need to do the following:

1. Strengthen the cleanliness of carrier tape forming machine; 

2. Strengthen the replacement frequency of the formed set-top needle to ensure the sharpness of the set-top needle;

 3. A blowing device is installed on the belt forming machine to blow the guide hole to achieve a more uniform effect; 

4. The formed carrier tape is passed through the projector to detect the sharp edge and burr.
