LED light beads are divided into surface mount (SMD) and in-line plug (DIP). Surface mount is often referred to as patch, which also becomes patch. This paper mainly introduces the specification, size and naming of patch light beads. After a single LED is packaged, it is usually named according to its size, such as 3528, 5050, 0603, 0805, 3020, 335, 020, 3535, 3014, etc. these abbreviations become specific specifications and models, but it should be noted that some are British, some are metric, and the units are not completely unified.

Make some simple explanations in combination with the above table to illustrate the common specifications and models of LED patches and their meanings: 0603, 0805 and 35285050 refer to the size of surface mounted SMD LEDs, that is, the corresponding specifications.

For example: 0603 refers to a length of 0.06 inches and a width of 0.03 inches. The corresponding metric system is 1608, which means that the length of the LED element is 1.6mm and the width is 0.8mm. It is called 1608 in metric system and 0603 in English system.

0805 corresponds to metric 2012, which means that the length and width of LED components are 2.0mm and 1.2mm. It is called 2012 in metric system and 0805 in English system. Note, however, that 3528 and 5050 units are metric.

1210: converted to metric system, it is 3528, which means that the length of LED element is 3.5mm and the width is 2.8mm. The industry is called 3528 for short and 1210 for English.

3528: This is a metric name, that is, the length and width of LED components after meter packaging are 3.5mm and 2.8mm. Industry abbreviation 3528.

5050: This is a metric name, that is, the length and width of LED components after meter packaging are 5.0mm and 5.0mm respectively. Industry abbreviation 5050.
