Application and classification of connector carrier tape

Connector carrier tape is mainly used in electronic component bonding industry. In combination with the upper sealing belt, the electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, transistors and diodes are loaded into the pocket of the connector carrying belt. When the electronic components are loaded, the cover belt is stripped, and the automatic loading equipment is correctly positioned through the index hole of the loading belt, Take out the parts loaded in the pocket in order and install them on the integrated circuit board (PCB). There are two types of connector carrier tape

1、 According to the connector carrier material, the connector carrier material mainly includes plastic (polymer) and paper. Embossed tape is mainly composed of plastic materials. The mainstream of the market is the tape made of PC,, PS, pet and other materials. The stamping connector carrier tape is mainly made of paper material or polyethylene composite material. PC material is characterized by high mechanical strength, good transparency, good dimensional stability, high glass transition temperature and good heat resistance. The mechanical strength of PS material is lower than that of PC material, so it is sometimes made into three-layer composite sheet with ABS material to improve the tensile strength of the bearing belt. The mechanical strength of PET material is close to that of PC, but due to its crystal material, the dimensional stability is poor.

2、 According to the forming mode of the connector carrier belt and the forming mode of the pocket, it can be divided into two forming modes: intermittent (plate molding) and continuous (roller rotation). Compared with the batch forming method, the continuous forming method has good dimensional stability and high dimensional accuracy. Batch forming method is suitable for making large pockets.
