What are the measurement methods of connector carrier tape

 

  • Connector carrier tape is a kind of ribbon product used for electronic component packaging. What are the methods to measure the connector carrier tape?

 

1、 Manual detection. Manual detection uses a manual two-dimensional image measuring instrument instead of a traditional caliper or projector. Due to the limitation of belt material, the caliper measurement will have great deformation, and the image definition of the projector is not enough when measuring the surface size. The edge position is manually compared, so the measurement error is large and undesirable. The manual two-dimensional image measuring instrument only manually controls the movement of the instrument and the search of the measurement position of the connector belt. The measurement image is captured through the automatic identification of the software, and the relative error of manual measurement is small.—connector carrier tape

 

 

Advantages: stronger adaptability and low cost, especially when measuring the load belt of white transparent plastic connector, the artificial edge position judgment and software automatic recognition are more accurate. Not affected by the material.

 

Disadvantages: the measurement efficiency is relatively low, which is only suitable for small-scale sampling measurement. In addition, the grab position is not fixed during manual measurement, resulting in relatively poor consistency of repeated measurement.-0–connector carrier tape

 

2、 Automatic detection. Automatic measurement adopts automatic two-dimensional image measuring instrument. The automatic image measuring instrument can not only control the movement of the worktable, but also measure and program each carrier belt. When measuring again, just call the measurement program to realize automatic and rapid dimension measurement, error judgment and storage and analysis of measurement data.

 

Advantages: high measurement speed, high efficiency and small human error. It is suitable for full-scale measurement of various carrier belts, and the measurement consistency is good.

Disadvantages: the cost of the instrument is high and can only be used for sampling inspection. Due to the influence of the connector tape material, there may be grasping errors when automatically grasping the tape edge of some white transparent plastic connectors.

 

Online detection. The same optical detection method is adopted. Different from the first two schemes, the on-line measuring instrument is directly installed on the production line, and the moving direction of the connector belt is fixed on the customized connector belt clamp. In the on-line measurement system, when the connector carrier belt on the production line passes through the optical measurement area, the instrument will automatically grab the contour figure of the measured part without trigger, and automatically measure and analyze the size.
